Charlotte is the largest city between Atlanta and Washington, DC and the center of the country's 5th largest urban region. Charlotte is located in Mecklenburg County and it is the county seat. The city is situated between Gastonia and Kannapolis along Interstate 85, on the banks of the Rocky River. Residents experience four seasons and a moderate climate.

With several hundred courses to choose from, North Carolina lives up to its billing as the “Golf Capital of the World”. The courses are spread throughout the state, and range from immaculately sculpted coastal gems to rugged mountain courses with challenging elevation changes and stunning views. What usually lures folks is the temperate climate: A full four seasons, but none is too intense. Summers can be hot and humid, but the average temperature is 76 F. The July temperatures vacillate between 88 F and 69 F, but on average the temperature will reach 90 F about 31 times. Fall is gorgeous -- the city is thick with trees -- and a popular time for visits to the North Carolina mountains, less than three hours to the west.
Winter is generally mild: Temperatures range between 50 F during the day and 31 F in the evenings. A few snowfalls will punctuate the winter months, but snow usually doesn't stick around for long. Spring is temperate and provides the legions of avid gardeners in the city the chance to show off at flower shows. Fall and spring are the best times to visit. This wonderful climate makes Charlotte a great place to look for new homes.
