Off FM 517, Peacock Isle is ideally situated between I-45 and SH 3. Peacock Isle includes 47 residential lots, 23 of which are on the bayou. Many of the bayou's activities are still enjoyed by Dickinson residents. People that do this go swimming, water skiing, fishing, and sight-seeing. There are two places where boats and other small watercraft can be launched, one of which is where Highway 3 crosses the bayou. On FM517, near Paul Hopkins Park, is the alternate site. Kayaks and little shallow-water boats can get to the tributaries from the main river. Within the boundaries of Dickinson, Texas, are where the majority of tributaries congregate.
