Save Energy (and money!) Part II

More tips to help keep your house and your wallet comfortable this summer!

Energy Efficient Ceiling Fan

• Don’t cool unused areas.  If you have any rooms that are not used regularly, such as a guest room, close the door and close the register/vent to keep the cold air in the rooms where you need it.

• Install an automatic setback or programmable thermostat that starts your air conditioner before you get home.

• If you spend most of your time in a certain room or area, consider buying a portable or window air conditioner for that area and leave the central AC off.

• If you do use a portable or window AC, make sure to close your vents and doors to keep the cool air from escaping.

• A ceiling fan cools fast and costs less than air conditioning!
