Pulte Homes announced on April 8, 2009 their agreement to acquire Centex (another home builder) creating the nation's largest homebuilding company in a stock transaction worth $3.1 billion.  The combination of Pulte and Centex will offer exceptional homes in well-designed communities that meet the desires of homebuyers.
With the announced merger with Centex to be finalized late in 2009, Pulte will become the largest U.S. homebuilder.
