Lennar Sets the Trend in Homes of the Future with Amazon Alexa

by Kelley

Amazon Alexa Lennar Homes

If you haven’t heard already, Lennar has partnered with Amazon to make Alexa standard in every new home. Each Lennar home will include built-in Wi-Fi, smart locks, doorbells, thermostats and lights – all controlled by the voice-activated assistant. This roll out comes shortly after the merge of Lennar and CalAtlantic, now making Lennar the largest homebuilder in the nation and more accessible to millions of homebuyers. Customers currently have the opportunity to experience the Alexa smart home environment with Amazon Experience Centers at select Lennar communities in Atlanta, Dallas, Los Angeles, Miami, Orlando, San Francisco, Seattle and Washington DC with more markets to come.

While experiencing Alexa in a real home environment, you’ll have the opportunity to discover the benefits of using the digital assistant first hand. Features of Alexa include putting your home on auto-pilot with “good morning” and “good night” routines, ordering household essentials, scheduling home services, notifications for doorbells, entries, exits and more. Included in the flagship Amazon Experience Centers are the latest smart home products for lighting, locks, entertainment, sprinklers, shades, car chargers and so much more.

With Lennar being the first home builder to implement Amazon Alexa as a standard feature, it seems like a safe assumption that we’ll see a rise in demand for Alexa smart home solutions in new home communities across the country.  This may open a larger door for Amazon to dominate the market for digital voice-activated assistants and custom solutions for each market, in house training, education, marketing and installation make this partnership all the more appealing for home builders.

Best Smart Home System That Connects All Your Smart Home Products and Devices

by racheal

Smart Home products are becoming ever more popular and are starting to be standard features in some new home construction. We are seeing everything from smart light bulbs, thermostats, door locks, doorbells, and garage door openers. Kohler even announced a smart sink that you can command to “Pour 2 cups of water,” and it does just that. And of course there are the smart home devices like Google Home and Amazon Echo. However, it seems like with each new product you install, you need a separate app on your smart phone or tablet to operate it. Not all smart home features integrate with every smart home voice device. Well not any more. Introducing, Eaton’s Home Automation Hub, the best smart home system that connects all of your smart home products and devices to work seamlessly together.

Smart Home System Automation Hub

Winner of Best Indoor Living Product at the Best of IBS Awards during the NAHB International Builders' Show® (IBS) in Orlando, FL in January 2018, The Eaton’s Home Automation Hub allows homeowners to integrate their smart home products all in one app. Now homeowners can manage lighting, security systems, locks, garage door openers, thermostats, entertainment devices, and more all from their smart home voice device or a single mobile app. The Eaton’ Home Automation Hub will even allow you to control your smart home features when you are away from home, allowing you to turn on lights at night when you are vacation to give that “at home” appearance or to turn on your thermostat on your way home from work so your home will be the perfect temperature when you arrive. Never again worry, “Did I lock the front door?" Now with your home automation hub app you can check, and if need be, lock your front door from wherever.

“Adoption of smart home products and services continues to increase and has become a common upgrade, if not a standard package for many builders. Homeowners are realizing the benefits of security, energy efficiency and convenience smart home solutions provide,” said Rachael Elliott, director of marketing, Eaton's Residential and Wiring Devices Division. Eaton’s Home Automation Hub is a single device that is simple to install and uses Z-Wave based products with ad-hoc Wi-Fi capability. Once installed home owners can control all their favorite smart home products from a single device.
