It’s taking a little longer to get a home under contract than this time last month, but Leander is still a steady housing sector in central Texas.
At the end of 2017 construction of new homes was up 3.3% a gain coming from single family homes being built at the strongest pace in about 10 years.
There have been more new home communities in Leander where there is more room for them, unlike Cedar Park where the number of new home communities are about capped.
Builders in Leander are still dealing with an inventory shortage compared to the buyer demand, prices slightly above re-sale homes due to shortage of contractors and materials. Both factors affected by the rebuilding efforts in Houston after Hurricane Harvey.
Looking forward to the new year, we see more buyers in the market because of the strong local and national economy – yes buyer demand appears to be stronger.
