The November 2017 numbers are in as compared to November 2016 for Real Estate in Denton County. The number of new listings is up by 1.7% to 1,120. Pending sales are down but Closed Sales are up by 6.3%. The average sales price is up 10.4%. Days on market have increased by 4 days on average and we currently have 2.3 months of inventory on hand.
What does that mean to the average consumer. In my opinion, it means the market in Denton County remains strong. The market is right to sell your existing house and buy a new home. Weather you are looking at a new build or an older home in an established neighborhood, there are opportunities for families to make a move.
December, January, and February are great months to make a move. The market is at its softest point of the year. March starts the buying frenzy and competition for homes begins to rise throughout the spring and into the summer months. Besides, who wants to move in the heat of a Texas summer.
With home values up it has never been a better time to sell. Denton County has an average home value of $351,499. With numbers like this in your favor as a seller and 2,822 homes on the market I’m confident that families can find that great new home to meet their needs for years to come.
Denton County is my home and for my family it is a wonderful place to live. Whether you want to live in the city or prefer a more country life style, Denton County has what you want. With 2 major universities and 1 community college, a host of festivals and events, locally own restaurants, shops, and businesses, Denton County appeals to a diverse population. Consider Denton County as a truly viable option when looking to relocate your family.
