Laura Steffen here reporting on what's hot and what's not in the South bay area of San Diego most commonly known as Chula Vista. If you are curious if we have bottomed out and are seeing an increase in the sales prices I finally feel I can answer that question with a capital YES! Prices in this attractive family based community are on the rise and multiple offers are no longer a thing of the past.
Chula Vista is clearly divided by the 805 freeway and on the west side you will find what many call the "Non-Mello-Roos" side of the city. This side consists of homes that were built in range from the early 1900's to some very small boutique communities that are significantly newer. The west side has a historical district and a quaint downtown corridor filled with locally owned and operated businesses.
If you'd prefer a short jaunt to the east side then you will enter a community with much more of a master planned feel. The East side of Chula Vista is often times referred to by their community names like Eastlake, Otay Ranch, Sun Bow & Rolling Hills Ranch. Eastlake has been recognized for twelve years running as one of the top chosen new home communities by home buyers. Many of the top ranked schools the entire county are nestled in the Mount Miguel Mountains of this community including the newest Charter school "High-Tech Elementary school which was a highly requested addition to High-Tech High School. If you enjoy fine dining and outdoor strolls through a newly built pet friendly Towne Center than this may be just the place you are looking for to call home. There is a little of something for everyone in Chula Vista. Having personally resided within the East side for over a decade It is very exciting to share all that Chula Vista has to offer with you and your family.
