Palm Desert, California is a city in Riverside County California located in the Coachella Valley. The city is located 11 miles east of the world-renowned city of Palm Springs. According to the 2010 census the population is 48,445. The number increases dramatically when the rest of the U.S. and Canada experiences winter weather. The more than 325 days of sunshine make it a Mecca for "snowbirds" seeking relief from the cold. Palm Desert residents and visitors alike benefit from all Palm Desert has to offer; cultural, entertainment and educational venues to name but a few.
