San Antonio Real Estate Market Conditions August 2009

by brook

Can you believe that not one, not two, but three of Texas' major metropolis areas ranked on the Forbes Most Affordable Cities to Live list for 2009? They did! As you may have read in our update on San Antonio Market Conditions July 2009, Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio are all included on the list, thanks to low unemployment rates and affordable housing.

Affordable housing? Oh, yes! Homes for sale in San Antonio are still among the most affordable in the state. And yet, the San Antonio real estate market conditions for August 2009 are healthy – why? Because of a slight increase in the median price – just enough to put a little more money in sellers’ pockets, while still ensuring great deals for buyers. Want to see the stats? Here they are:

San Antonio Homes For Sale

San Antonio homes for sale: 9,885
Median price: $159,900
Change from July: +0.6%

San Antonio new homes for sale: 149
Median price: $263,500
Change from July: 0.0%

San Antonio foreclosures for sale: 2,741
Median Price: $87,297
Change from July: 0.0%

As you can see, the inventory is abundant, new homes prices are in the very reasonable high $200,000’s, and the foreclosure market is even more affordable. If the spacious, beautiful homesites of San Antonio are calling you, now’s a good time to inquire.
